The Minister of Women, Family Affairs, and Human Rights Development, H.E. Nasra Aweis Sheikh, initiated an Inter-ministerial Dialogue focused on women-sensitive stabilization in the Southwest State, together with the Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs, H.E. Nuur Sidi Baba. The event was held in collaboration Isha Human Rights Organisation – Southwest State Somalia.
The dialogue session brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Women, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor’s Office, women’s rights groups, women activists, internally displaced women, and minority women, among others.
The Minister of the Ministry of Constitutional Affairs, H.E Said Ahmed Ali, took part in the discussion on the roles of women in Southwest State’s stabilisation efforts. The dialogue saw lively discussions from the panel, including the Economic Advisor to the President of Southwest State Somalia, and the Chairladys of the Association of Women at – District as well as the Regional levels.
During the session, Minister Nasra Aweis Sheikh highlighted the critical role of women in accelerating the stabilization of the state. She emphasized that women’s involvement is essential for achieving societal stability in any region.
